Is anyone going to be bouldering in red rocks during the week of November 25-November 30th? Me and some friends are coming up to Vegas for thanksgiving and want to boulder at red rocks and it would be sweet if someone could meet us that knew the area. Probably looking to get on some V2-V5 stuff.

Probably looking to get on some V2-V5 stuff. All the best bouldering is in Calico Basin. Tons of V2-V5 stuff. You're bound to run into a local there. There's a guidebook out soon (Spring 09-?), and a gym and a climbing shop down Charleston a bit.

DrTopo has a not-very-good, but free bouldering guide for Calico Basin http://www.drtopo.com/...ebooks/usa/Nevada/40 Check out the South OW on the Divided Boulder. It's only 5.8 or so, but it's a clean splitter and you can make it harder if you get in there and chickenwing it instead of laying it back (that guide calls it V3, but pretty much all guidebooks for RR print famously soft grades)

Check out the problems Monkey Bar and The Pearl. There are lots of fun, obvious problems here. Enjoy!

You can buy it at the climbing store on Charleston and Cimmaron. It's right next to Diego's Tacos.
