Hello all, I am thinking of traveling to thailand for 2-3 weeks. I have searched the site some and learned that you can travel round trip for sometimes $600. I can't seem to find any deals like this. I would most likely be going in the summer and climbing some too so are there any hot spots I should look for? Thanks for any info and tips!

just depends on what airfares are doing. I bought a ticket for August 2002, and paid $600, 10 weeks in advance. I bought a ticket for February 2008, and paid $1200, with 10 days notice. The price seemed pretty stable though, even 3 weeks to a month in advance. Good luck, hope you get a deal.

Railay and Tonsai are right next to each other. Railay is prettier, but more expensive and has lots of 'normal' tourists. Tonsai is cheaper and is like 99% climbers. The two both have great climbing and are a 15 minute walk apart. Fly into Bangkok. You can book a flight from BKK to Krabi airport for cheap with a small airline. I booked online with air aisa, it was like $40 each way. Krabi, take a cab to Ao Nang. They'll drop you off at the beach. it was $15, I split it with 2 other climbers I met at the airport. at the beach, tell the boatmen you want to go to Tonsai. It's like a $2 ride I think.
