Hiya, We're climbing in the Red Rocks / Las Vegas area and the weather's calling for rain. Any suggestions for rain-safe climbing during or after a rain? Aloha, Les

Yeah there is a sport climbing place not far away called Urban crag? Suburban crag? It's fun, reasonably easy approach. We climbed there the day after it rained when we were in Red rocks.

If you are due a rest day anyway, and have not "done" Vegas before you could easily spend a day wandering up and down the strip (no you don't need to go to a strip club or even spend any money at all). Lots of free things to see and then treat yourself to an all you can eat buffet.

Clearly, you've never been to an all you can "eat" strip club.

If your not into the strip, you can always check out Arizona hot springs. It's pretty cool, right on the banks of the Colorado river, just below Hoover Dam. There's also some pretty neat bassalt sport climbing down there as well. Ask at Desert Rock for directions....

I do not recommend it though in the summer.....did them in June once and I thought I was going to die on the hike out. I liked the Nevada side's hotsprings better though.
