Alright folks, its that time of year again- Rockclimbing.com is headed to Salt Lake City later this month to bring you the latest and greatest in gear. Coverage begins on Friday, Jan 23rd and runs through Sunday, Jan 25th. I'll post a list of the folks I have meetings with sometime next week. If you have suggestions for people to meet with or questions about new gear coming out, post it up! I'll definitely meet with all the usual suspects- so if you know of a new company or want to hear from one I havent visited in the past, let me know!

If you meet with the people at Vasque please ask them if they plan to fix their boa lacing system. It is currently not possible to do anything other than tighten the entire boot uniformly. For myself and many other people it means over tightening the forefoot to reduce the ankle movement which for obvious reasons needs to be fixed! thx

IF possible try to cover some rahter unknown or smaller companies, apart from the usual BD/petzl/DMM/ suspects. OFten quite interesting to see what they have to offer. I doubt that they will be there, but if they are you should see edelrid and/ or vaude. they have gotten a lot of quite interesting stuff lately. qwert

I'd love more information about mammut's new belay device. It's supposed to be available this spring right?

It's been a crazy/horrible/great year. My wife had reconstructive surgery on her ankle and was on the couch for almost six months. Then we moved to Portland, and I had to find and train new sewers...and get some great customer service dudes! Honestly, I'm still dealing with the consequences of the move, and I think it's only been in the last two weeks that I've felt that we're getting back in the swing of things. Don't worry about seeing the new stuff on the show blog and rc.com. John and Jay from rc.com and our team have a meeting scheduled for Friday morning. We'll show off the v4s, the new dyneema woven and nonwoven packs, the duffels and the wally family. J and John will take beautiful pictures and write up an incredible story on the blog. ;)

It works pretty well... could use some refining. But it's a great lightweight alternative to the GriGri... it's autolocking and about the same weight as an ATC. Takes a little getting used to in releasing it once it's locked... but simply pulling it out and away from the body does the trick.

I would like to second the Cilo Gear questions. I am interested in seeing pictures of the new stuff. I noticed that Crackers posted that he's got a lot of new stuff in his line up. I've been checking the Cilo Gear blog and web page daily, hoping to see any new pictures! The suspense is killing me! hosh.

Let me know if Grivel sends a representative from Europe... I'm hoping they are trying to provide support to the North American market still. Well support beyond the few stores going the extra mile to help order gear from Europe. Oh, and you can do me a favour and slap whoever invented the Abalakov/V-thread/"I'll-be-backen-off" guide/slide. You'll see it there. Just reach over and slap the guy up side the head. Thanks in advance for that one, if you do it I'll buy you a beer should you ever show up in Calgary.

WHOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Not only did Wild Things get covered, but I got mentioned! I feel like a celebrity! Also, rereading my post, I sound like a whiner- which I guess I was. Sorry for that. Didn't know about the company changing hands. Such is life I suppose. Thanks for all the work and writeups. I look forward to these shows and your writeups all year. Really excited about the Totem cams and some of those shoes look awful pretty.
