I'm gonna go with Dan Osman as well, because that fucking video of him speed soloing Bear's Reach has become the #1 viral video representing climbing to millions, has attracted dipshits like the original poster to this sport, and is doing more than its part in taking rc.com even further down to the level of fucking youtube comments sections. Really, you don't know jack-shit about Dan Osman if you say "he wasn't concerned about safety," this is not an "extreme sport," your attempted importation of ESPN-styled hero worship is pathetic, and I think you should do us all a favor and go play in the highway for a few hours, you clinically river-dancing auto-asphyxiatory five-seven ninny. that is awl. you're welcome.

I like dave graham because he's from my region, and he seems to be the kind of guy who makes you better just by climbing with him. not that I'd know? in other words, FU troll.

Osman never did anything for anybody by soloing. I respect the local hero's that had the vision to establish new lines and inspired others to do the same.

I usually don't get inspired by high achievement athletes, but I think what Beth and Tommy and Lynn Hill have done are pretty amazing.

The Partial List: Pete Cleveland (gee, who's He??) Werner Ed Hillary And whoever said "henry Barber" above should recall that Henry abandoned his partner on Mt Kenya with a broken leg. That doesn't get him into the hall of fame in my book. That makes him an asshole. And about Dan-o...his daughter would definitely disagree with the "what a great guy for checking out early" mentality...

That makes him an asshole. Two sides to that one I think. If Rob was abandoned how did he get from the point of the accident to the edge of the glacier down some very techical terrain? How did the rescue get started? Know here to look? The two of them are the only ones that know the whole story. One of them has made the accident his life's work. The other has contributed a lot of positive substantial things to the climbing community. Oh it wasn't Mt Kenya either....
