Yea. I spend a lot of time in Villars and exploring the area. My guidebook, unfortunately, is in Switzlerand; there are obvious cliffs along the road going into Aigle. The cliffs are obvious; I think these would be the closest. I actually haven't climbed there in about 4 years since every other time I've been its been ski-season (though there were definitely days it would have been better to be climbing than skiing Unsure) or without a climbing partner. and i've met many more skiers than climbers locally....though i'm SURE i'm just not trying hard enough

There is a guide-book to the Vaude area, that is in French I believe. Shouldn't be a problem though, I'm assuming. I'm sure you could get it in Lausanne or Montreux, or just order it online: http://www.gaia-store.com/...php?products_id=5634

here's the cover- its a great book.

Thanks for the response. Very helpful. I am visiting there from Australia but my wife reads French so we'll chack out the guide book. Go well...climb safe...Smile

Great! Honestly, only a nominal amount of french is needed to figure out the guide book. some terms that are helpful: equipee=sport route; degaine=quickdraw

basically this will let you figure out if a route is a sport route and how many draws you'll need. don't know if you've seen this, but there is a french-english climbing terms dictionary here: http://www.gdargaud.net/Climbing/Lex_Fr.html

any other questions, lemme know!
