You know, I'd tell you majid if I could just figure out what was going on.

Are the aiders clipped to the lower ascender? Or the upper one? Is he holding that carabiner, or is it clipped to something, what's going on here?

The way I typically ascend is to have the aiders or foot loops attached to the higher ascender, with the daisy that leads to it at the right length that it holds my weight when I've got the foot loops as high as I can comfortably move from. The lower ascender has a very short sling attached to it so that my hips don't have to move very far before the ascender tries to move too.

Hang on the lower ascender, move upper ascender, stand in aiders. Since standing moves the lower ascender, all I have to do is keep repeating the process.

More or less, except my hands are on the jumars, not holding my dick.

The pic appears to have the foot loops individually rather than paired, so hand and foot move together on one side, then the other . But the right foot aider goes behind the left leg, and the daisies aren't right. And the shadow looks like a weird extra connection to the rope. So, no, that's not how I'd rig it.

Oh - that's a shadow. I thought it was an anvil to weight the rope.

Yep - My interpretaion of this is one aider to each jumar is how it's drawn. Both clipped to waist on same biner.

not even close, First of all, I hold onto the handles of the Jumars, not the rope and my dick, secondly, I think it would be kind of hard having my right leg loop wrapping behind my left leg, as I mentioned in this post, yellow jumars aren't safe, so I use two blue ones, I use daisy chains to connect my jumars to my belay loop instead of the loops of cord, I don't wrap my right daisy around my left arm, and I never wear military combat boots.

These are just a few of the many things that I do differently when jumaring.

I'm sorry majid, I forgot that you don't understand humor. I was only joking, and I figured that if you read the post in the link I gave you, then you would figure that out.

For a more serious note. I generally use the frog technique to ascend (one yellow jumar, and one yellow croll). I have jumared exactly as shown in your picture with the exception of the aforementioned errors in the drawing.

I found frog system very slow but still pretty popular among the cavers

I use the yosemite system on slabby jugs, but I find that I don't jug very many slabby routes. I generally only jug vertical to overhanging rock and in these situations, I find the frog system to be much quicker and less tiring than the yosemite.

The correct answer is:

Those aren't Jumars. They are Petzl Ascentions.

Damn, it's obvious that yellow aiders are stoners, just like you before you draw pictures like this.

Pothead aiders cannot be trusted, except to get lost.

I use two daisies, clip jugs to them (duh), without that extra biner on top. WTH is that? Use one on bottom of jug for a traverse maybe, but on top? I don't use those stirrups, aiders work fine and are two less things to take along. Don't forget to tie in short once in a while. That ought to do it.

I never clip the top of my ascenders either. I find it binds the rope; making progression more difficult.

Frog for me. Use a yellow and my cinch. Already carrying the cinch anyways, so thats one less ascender to have to lug around when I want to jug stuff. also less cordage clusterfucking around.

I lead with four aiders anyway, so it isn't like I have a need for any more cordage. Do you like the frog on slabby stuff?

majid.. I'm not sure just exactly what *software* (ms paint) you're using, but I think you should ditch
it and revert back to your etch-a-sketch style diagrams. At least they were somewhat understandable
and far more entertaining.

I'm not sure exactly what's going on in this one, between the 6" seatbelt webbing with the hand-tied
20mm foot loops, the 50lb ascenders clipped to a 6" stripper pole...
Sorry, I know you said not to be picky, but it's just too easy.
Wink

Honestly I don't know, it looks like you have one foot loop connected to each ascender, cordage loops..
lower one going to the seat harness, upper one going to.. a chest harness? Maybe someone does it this
way, I've just personally never climbed with anyone who has. It doesn't make sense, the right foot loop
seems sort of useless. I'd shorten the connection to the seat harness, and either toss that right loop or
move it to the upper ascender.

WTF is this maj , I thought you trained SAR people?
