I don't know if this will help or not, but I would try asking local machine shops if they have one; many older shops will have one lying around. Otherwise, any facility that does heat treating will definitely have one since they need it to check any batches of metal that get hardened. I have access to one over here in Minnesota, but I realize that doesn't do you any good. Good luck!

Got one for my company on ebay for $500 for a $2000 portable. Sounds like you are in a big hurry but check this out -http://cgi.ebay.com/Wilson-Rockwell-M-51-Portable-Hardness-Tester-in-Case_W0QQitemZ180356877999QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item29fe1b8eaf&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50#
