I'm going to be in upstate NY next week and am looking for some places to Boulder. The first is going to be near Albany, NY. I'm bringing my mom (who's 53) for her first time so want to find something that scenic with V0s for her and 4/5s for me. Second I'll be going to Utica (my hometown) and bouldering or trad climbing with one of my buddies. He hasn't climbed in awhile so anything in the range of 5.8 to 5.11 would be cool. Thanks for the help!

Well, the Gunks aren't too far. If you're looking for something closer look for info about Little Falls. It's right outside Utica.

I'd also recommend Little Falls. Good for bouldering. Good for short and easy TRing (which means good for beginners). Very easy access. And free! Have fun! GO
