Hi,

If you clicked here, you may have some interests about climbing in Eastern Europe. Me too. My newest project is a big move to Warsaw, Poland. Ill be living there for a year or more, and if I don't do any rock climbing, Im going to go nuts!

Here's a couple good sites about RCing in Poland.

http://www.wdahu.com/
and
http://www.wspinek.fr.pl/

I have a few questions Im faced with about the move. First off, anybody want to go climbing with me? I am a sport climber/trad climber/ and boulderer. Id also be up for some alpine climbs. I have plenty of sport gear and a nice sized trad rack. Does anybody know where I can buy a crashpad in Warsaw? Or by mail in Europe? Id also like to buy a hangboard and get some new soles on a couple pairs of shoes. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

And finally, Im really going to miss the ol USofA, and especially the Sierras. I fell in love with highball bouldering a few years ago and now my new fix has been moderate multipitch and short sport climbs are always a good, fun, pump. In Poland, I understand that there is decent sport climbing on good limestone and some small sandstone bouldersCrazy. Im also interested on climbing in Slovakia, Ukraine, Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. Im planning a trip to Swissy in Nov. So if anybody out there in Eastern Europe wants to do some climbing, please get in touch with me.

peace - Chad

Alpkit.com has good prices on great pads and I think they ship to poland at little extra cost.

When are you going ?

Go to Google.pl

And type:

SKLEP = store
WSPINACZKOWY = climbing
WARSZAWA = warsaw

You will get bunch of links, click on them and look for "ul:" that means street next word after that is the name of the street, unit number is after the street name and not before like it is in US or Canada.

Crashpad I would skip assuming you will go bouldering somewhere near Zawiercie, that's where I'm from. If nothing else works out then just take a train from Warsaw to Zawiercie, then take a bus to Mirow or Rzedkowice. In those 2 villages there is lots of climbing to be had and landing is flat grass with no rocks.

When you get to Poland buy yourself a map "Jura Krakowsko-Czestochowska", it comes in Polish/English.

Here is a link in English that might be of some help. Check "Vademecum" , "Guide" and "Gallery".

Let me know if you need more help.
Also:
Next Sunday I will be at Lovers Leap, if you wanna meet and get more info in person.
