Read a snippet in another thread about possible access issues because of road conditions. Anyone know specifics?

The road is closed, and they do not know when it will be open. I think the SCC is taking donations for road repair. Check their boards to stay up to date.

If your car gets stuck on the back road, then it's your funeral.

Oh, I have done my share of hiking around looking glass. Except it was in the dark, and it was December, and I was only wearing a t shirt, and I was in climbing shoes, and I thought I was going to die.

Heh, that sounds real familiar; except in my case it was February, not December, and I was 500' up trying to find a rap station, not hiking around the base! Back on the subject of Rocktown: I'd say forget about it for a while. The road is seriously screwed from the flooding, and we're about to get another deluge tomorrow. JL

Let the mountain rest for a while it needs to sleep. Or hike it or bike it. The ranger wasnt to pleased when I even asked about the road on the backside, Lets keep in good standings with the rangers and let it be for a minute. Besides I believe the mountain is closed for hunting on the 17th.

JL I was on top because I thought the south side climbs would have a very easy walk off. They may say that all of the adventure is gone from climbing, but I sure get lost enough to put most of it back in.
