Who is too lazy to take their draws with them when they leave? Oh, that's right, the people who complain that their draws were taken after being abandoned for a few days.

Yeah, it's really a bummer. I've lost a few dras this way. But in all reality, we are usually climbing in public areas, thus it's completely based on every climber's individual ethics wether or not they leave project draws. Im down to only leaving older draws if I'm going to leave any at all. It's upsetting, but easily avoidable with little effort on the projecting climber's side. Rock on...

What's with the hate at Mexico? That was a rough comment. Anyways, lots of people will take draws if they think someone left them on an unsuitible climb. Leaving your draws on routes other people want to do using their own draws (perhaps because they like placing their own, perhaps they don't like/trust yours) isn't as low as stealing draws, but it's still pretty lame. Unless it's too steep to strip the draws, but that's a different situation.

You can bid on them if you want.

Buddy Lets talk... First off, I want you to take back the comment about Mexico! I have been with a good friend and was treated like family in a small town. I left my pack out in a three walled hut for 2 weeks and never had a problem with it being riffled through. Again In the middle of town. Mexican folks are not bad as a matter of fact they made me feel at home for the time I spent there... 5 PETZL SPIRITS Now your Draws.. When I got to Fosters on Sat. I walked down the way looking for the peeps I was meeting there. When I found them One guy was talking about BOOTY draws he found on a route. I had told him someone was projecting that and WILL come back for them. Nobody leaves 5 bail biners on a route. Petzl Spirits at that, Now I have your attention dont I? I told the Person he stole those draws. Latter in the day another friend had got on his ass for taking draws off a project. He made a point to lay in to him hard about it. Now I believe he needs to return the draws to the owner. He just does not understand ethics and thought if its left it is booty... If you want the information to get in contact with this person feel free to PM me. I will gladly try to get his number for you. I would say not to leave gear on a route ,but if I did I would hope it was there when I returned...

I told the Person he stole those draws. He didnt see it the same way. Latter in the day another friend had got on his ass for STEALING draws off a project. He made a point to lay in to him hard about it. Which I felt appropriate... Now I believe he needs to be called out about the situation. So he does not do it again. I am glad you posted up on the boards. Its time for a lesson to be learned cause the talks we had with him obviously didnt work. He just does not understand ethics and thought if its left it is booty... If you want the information to get in contact with this person feel free to PM me. Im sure me and you could throw down crazy-like on some mad-sickness boulder probs. (also add this to climbing jargon I hate thread) hewllyaahhbeechis right....that's your lingo and about those draws..................................

The boy gots his draws back. Did I hear shit for it from 10 people, YES. Do I give a flack, NO. The person who had STOLE the draws didnt even climb the route to get them. The little hussy climbed a weak sauce route next to the 13 and rapped it to get he draws. You want hangin draws you climb the route they are on. Otherwise your a dirty little donkey plugger.........

Hey, you don't have to climb the route in order to liberate gear! Then again, I don't believe in stealing somebody's project draws either. Good to hear everything is right with the universe now.

I usually steal draws while my crag dogs digs in at the base and my partner spreads out the extensive basecamp (couch-sized crash pad, iPod, hydration system, dog food and water bowls, stove, Falcon Press guide, video cam and tripod, etc) required to balance my chi and support my rad sendage, right in the middle of the narrowest protion of the trail. ...while wearing inappropriate spandex and a sexist shirt... wife beater. ...and fur... usually baby seal...
