Cool, I was just looking for the cliff notes version but I’d love to read about it in detail. I don’t have time right now but I’ll print it and read it tomorrow. Thanks for the write-up.

Cliff/Coles notes

1) Make a plug out of MDF
2)make a mold for each half of the tool
3)use pour in foam inside the molds
4) lay carbon in molds, put foam inside, squash it all together.
5) read the full review or you WILL DIE!!!! LaughLaughLaugh

I read your write up the other day but I keep forgetting to get back to you. First off thanks for writing it up. So you use a non bake resign, is that what you mean by post cure? After reading this I think I’ll leave it up to you, not my idea of a good time. I have a design I’d like to try it with, if you ever want to trade water jet time for a shaft let me know.

Would you be interested in making and selling another set? Those are beautiful and I want custom tools. I don't give a shit how they perform I still would bet my ass they climb better than I do.

Seriously? What would your price be is or is just super insane because of time, materials and such? I mean I totally understand if this was purely for the sake of doing it and it was pretty damned spendy.

If you want someone to use them and chronicle their every use I'd be happy as hell to buy them at your cost and do that for you.

Geez! Do I sound like I'm drooling or what? This is the best p0rn I've seen in *so* long. Farking awesome dude.

Your skills are wired up right man.

No problem for writing it. It took a hell of a long time. I`m suprised that you read it all! lol

I might take you up on the trade. I`m considering getting rid of the Grivel pick, though I really do like it, for an Aermet pick. I haven`t confirmed but I think the metal is a phone call away.

You may be mixing up post cure and pre-preg. Post cure is what you do to get the optimal toughness out of the epoxy. I don`t know the chemistry but the heat makes the bonds stronger. Pre-preg is carbon that has the epoxy in it and is activated by heat - not extra epoxy is needed.

thanks! you made my day. I`ve been really hasty selling stuff before and I learned that I needed to get things wired before trying to give them to people. I have a couple more things to try before I try and sell these. I`ll send you a PM.
