Curt Then I'd recommend Crossroads Cafe or the Water Canyon Cafe, or, for a somewhat slimier but no less memorable experience, the Wine and Roses Lounge. Jay

I didn't think I'd beat anyone to it, especially Jay. Do a search! This site has route database! As far as weather is concerned... I'm also gambling.

Is that tooth fairy movie playing down there? That would make the whole trip worth it.

Back to the Beatnik—or whatever it's called this year—I guess. It is no longer true that even the coffee in J Tree is better than the climbing. Jay

Drtopo used to publish a nice little pdf that could get you going at j-tree (it's not available now). You might try looking here: http://www.joshuatreeclimb.com/...Guest/bouldering.htm I think the route database here is fairly useless for trip planning.

Saturday is gonna suck for sure. Sunday, well it may not be much better. Storms that are big, which hit L.A. can take upwards of a full 12 hours or more to hit us. The Beatnik has been gone for some time now (lease issues), and Water Canyon went bye bye a while ago.

Well, good luck and let me know how it goes. I probably haven't done it since 1985 or so. Curt
