I love Mad Rock shoes, the Flash specifically. My current pair is going on 1.5 years at 2-3 times a week.

I'm no beginner.

Customer Alert!!!

Mad Rock Climbing is issuing a customer alert for Climb X products. Climb X products are an imitation made with the intention to deceive the consumer into believing it to be genuine Mad Rock products. Mad Rock and its parent company Nelson Sports Inc. has no affiliation with Climb X or its products, which violates numerous patent and copyright laws. We encourage any customers who have been approached by Climb X to contact us immediately.

For further information please contact Kenny Suh at Kenny@madrockclimbing or call 562-944-8081

So are you saying that there will NO Climb X shoes and that if they sell shoes they will say Mad Rock?
Or are they copies of Mad shoes? In that case I'm good with copies. Companies do it all the time and it make it a better market. Ya see. This brings on new products that hopefully crush the competition.
If this is the case, from what I hear, Mad Rock has a lot of work to do. Only time will tell....
Thanks for the heads up!

Mad Rock shoes aren't to bad. Being in Vietnam might even lower the price more, so that will be nice.

This thread rocks!

And rc.com (with all the drama and half-truths that circulate here) is just the place for it to go down.

The company that was reputed to get its foundation by stealing from its parent and moving to China, now has its own offspring attempting to do the same. The irony is beautiful.

China is like the Wild West of manufacturing!

There's always been a lot of dubious gear heritage and fratricide in the business side of climbing, but I have to admit to being violently ambivalent about a bitch fight between two cheap Asian import operations.

I've got a lot of Mad Rock gear, all of it shit.

Harness, weird leg loop sizing, pinches, waist belt frayed abnormally fast.

Haul Bag, thin, won't stand on it's own and the top won't stay open when filling.

Rope Bag, Buckles broke immediately, half the thickness and half the ground coverage of a name brand bag.

Rope, it's just fine but of course it's actually a Lanex.

Carabiners, light but with way too weak of a gate.

Belay device, so much friction as to be completely useless.

So someone is going to ruin their reputation? This is terrible.
