Trinity Rocks Massif is over one kilometre long, made of limestone, with hundreds of bolted routes. a few minutes away near the village of Samovodene near Veliko Turnovo. Trinity Rocks Samovodene end. The routes closest to the farm are section A, 8 to 40 metres long and stay in the shade for almost all of the day, making it an ideal area for those hot summer days. Cave area. Further along towards the convent is section B, there are two big caves in this section overlooking some beautiful scenary. These routes range from 10 metres to 50 metres. Central area. At the foot of the central part of the massif is situated "St Trinity" Convent which is concidered to date back to the 14th century. The central part faces Southwest. The routes here range from 50 to 80 metres high. Veliko Turnovo end. At the far end, situated near Veliko Turnovo, the rocks have a southern exposure. There the routes are 15 to 40 metres long and the features and formations make them of speciall interest to the more advanced climber. Ousteto area. Ousteto East and West are situated at the southern end of of Veliko Turnovo. Ousteto meaning "mouth". This rock formation was calved out by the Yantra River. It consists of two opposing faces with the river running through the middle. Ousteto East. has most of the climbs on it. The is limestone and is about 40 metres high but the routes are 8 to 18 metres long. This Cragg is best suited to climbing in the afternoon when it is in the shadow. Ousteto West. This Cragg has less routes but is quieter and calmer. It is better to climb in the morning till 11am. when the sun is not so hot. You can then cross over to the East side. They had a round of the World Cup there years ago. I am going to stay at Trinity Rocks Farm. Anyone else going there this year? Paul
