I am fairly new to climbing and I am wondering what guide books there are for Texas. I have seen the Rock Climbing New Mexico and Texas book, but it was published in 1996. Is this still an accurate source, or is there something better?

Not really...almost anything is better than that book.

The lastest Texas guidebooks are at www.AustinClimbingBook.com (It's about Austin area sport routes and DWS) and www.Vcrux.com which sells a selection of Texas guidebooks.
