Frederik Erikson, 35, of Sweden and an exchange student graduate of Central Lyon H.S. Rock Rapids, IA., died trying to be the first person trying to ski from the summit of K2 to basecamp. He fell 3,300 feet. His body will not be recovered due to hazards.
