So I'll be in the DC area for a trade show and some climbing would be in order.
Great Falls looks like a good spot pretty close.
What's a good starting point for this area that has a good variety of routes in the 5.8-5.10 range?

I'd start at Bird's nest. Great falls is ok, short routes, everything is top roped, rock is very slick, but walks are short, it is close to DC, nice view of the river and set up is a breeze.
