Lago Linda or Land of the Arches. Both have websites-google them. Both are $5, showers included. You can show up at both without a reservation.

In reply to: I dont like camping at Miguels. What happened at Miguels? I have never met anyone who did not like the vibe there, and the Pizza and prices are tough to beat. I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else, even if it was the same price and gave you a personal firepit. Did something happen there that turned you off? Too much spraying around the campfire? Did your neighbors get you a contact high while you were sleeping? Maybe it changed since I was last there a couple years ago but that place has always treated me right.

I would imagine that you wouldn't meet many people there who don't like it. I have to say that based on what I hear about it, I'm planning on staying elsewhere.

Every night was punctuated by me waking up to some drunk assholes screaming about "I thought this was the south?! Why is it cold?" or "Hey man, do you got any weed we can burn?" or "God I'm so drunk, that case race was a terrible idea... Blahhehghgheh!!" I like it there, and have never had a big issue with the noise or anything but it seems like every year it gets a little worse and more and more people start treating it like it's their own little party spot with blatant disregard for others around them.

It is true that 1) miguels is a great place to stay and the food is inexpensive and good and 2) there will be drunk fools staying up late making noise there. If you go to miguels and want to sleep on a weekend night, bring earplugs.

I love Miguels for hanging out, chowing down, and checking my email....but for sleeping, i'll head to Linda's, thanks. I like to be able to send in the morning!

i had a good time camping at miguels, but i like a bit more solitude most the time, so i usually opt for my cooler and tent out in the forest by military wall just through the tunnel,. im up and out before the crowds start comin through in the morning, and if i need a shower ,ill head to miguels. but as far as miguels goes, ive met some characters there. great people and staight up asses alike. but you cant go wrong sitting by the fire at night sippin on all the different whiskeys and shines being passed around!

No, in case of cookies, chocolate chip is a no-question winner, and in case of gunks vs JT climbing, the answer is neither one .
