This forum is not where one finds partners. There are special meet-up websites, and there is probably an indoor climbing gym near you to use too.

^^Don't listen to this wanker. There is a climbing partner's section on this website. Post in the appropriate region. I've met some great climbing partners from this website.

Actually, if you click on the Forums link up on the nav bar on this very site and scroll down a bit, you'll see an entire section of forums for seeking partners, organized geographically.

I disagree with your first statement. I've climbed with at least ten people I've met through this site... some I've climbed with again and others I've wanted to strangle. Admittedly I wasn't a beginner but it's worth trying, to find a partner and/or mentor.

Rattracker: I've never been out to El Paso, so not sure if there's a gym out there. If there is a gym, as Rmsyl2 points out, go check it out and start there. You may want to try asking over at erockonline.com (although I think the site is moving soon). Try through mountain project too. Good luck.

thanks for the advice, still learning to navigate this site. I've tried the partner finder and have come up empty. which is why i used the forum outlet, plus no indoor gyms anywhere near me. Thanks though, will look into the forums a little deeper.

already tried using partner finder on this website and craigslist with no results. And there is no indoor gym anywhere near me. Thanks though!

Sure, you looked for a partner, but did you enter any info offering yourself as a partner so someone can find you?

Did you post seeking a parnter in the appropriate regional forum, or even the general forum, instead of just in the beginners forum (where no one would ever go if they were looking for a partner)? Since you only have 3 posts total, all in this thread, obviously not.

Just go to the Hueco Rock Ranch, tell um your a local and you are looking for regular partners to climb with.

If your there for the long term you should get guide training for the park.

Bring a case of beer and by the time its gone you'll have everything you'll need.
