What glove should I choose between the Black Diamond Punisher & the Black Diamond Torrent for Ice Climbing in Quebec ??? Do you have any preferences?! ever climbed with one of these? thanks a lot!

Punisher for sure. Haven't climbed in, or even seen or heard of the torrent, but it's pretty hard to beat the punishers. They are a purebread modern ice glove, and they are fantastic. The torrent looks like a full on alpinist glove, which will by comparison sacrifice dexterity and low profile for warmth. That isn't really what you're looking for in an ice glove.

I use the Punisher as well, but would also reccomend the Ice Floe by Cloudveil. Not sure if they still make them or not. The Punisher is a bit thicker...the Ice Floe a bit more dextrous

the best setup I have found for ice climbing is to have multiple gloves. I use a thin glove for climbing and a thick for the belays. check out the BD Arc

I haven't climbed in them, so this suggestion is next to useless, but the mountain hardwear outdry gloves look real good. I personally have a set of punishers and if you are just going to be Ice climbing, they will be more than enough. Eric
