Hi Folks,

I am trying to figure out where the best sport climbing location(s) are in Texas. I am going to be in Austin in May and will have 4 days I can take off to drive to climb anywhere in the State. Is there a single place or set of locations anyone would recommend for good sport climbing (i.e. bolted routes). Thanks so much in advance!

Reimer's Ranch is in Austin. I went up there for a day when I was in San Antonio this fall. It's a great spot with a pretty wide range of climbs and interesting features.

Reimers (not "Reimer's") Ranch is just west of Austin and has a high concentration of good limestone sport climbs. All single pitch, most in the 25'-50' range.

Monster Rock is also in the same vicinity with a similar scenario. MR is a private climbing area so contact the owner (John Hodge) to make arrangements:

Fantastic thanks for the details for places around the Austin area. I'm also considering driving beyond Austin, possibly south or west to check out more Sport climbing. Do you all have any recommendations for other places with good bolted routes? Thanks again!

Could always come up to SW oklahoma, plenty of banging sport routes on the refuge, and quartz mnt.

Reimers is the best place you could go to... i live in SA and go there every weekend. It is worth it to get the one year pass for $100
