SAS, Everest @ 23yrs old? Knows what he's doing at what? How much crack climbing do you think people do on their way up Everest? Or in the SAS?

this is tv guys, its entertainment and not instructional. bear grylls does come across as a little douchey but i think in all seriousness he is a serious athlete, a very accomplished guy. we might flame him (he gets so much shit in the UK) but we all secretly want his wealth and status right? |

Josh wow. i didnt even notice that until i put it into hd, but that is funny! he gets to the top and his "lead" rope is just a tail... Knot (harhar) only can you see the black top rope a couple of times, but they actually show him tying into it at the start of the video. Opps. But otherwise, good camera work, very cliche, and all hollywood.

Or in the SAS? I just meant climbing, survival, whatever in general... he's 37 or so? Climbing for ~30 years? I'd be very surprised if he only did alpine snow. He's definitely pretty accomplished. I just think hollywood & money got ahold of him! :) I mean for god sakes... Walmart sells Bear Grylls gear now. Lol
