When talking to a friend about leading another non-climbing friend said “your insane, what happens if you fall before you get to the top and tie in”. I then had to explain in great detail about placing pro and clipping in.

This question was asked of me from an old dude pointing up at the wall while I was packing up after a day at the base of El Cap. Uh, what do you do if you have to go to the bathroom? I asked him if he had a small paper bag and a plastic tube.
