I'm feeling a lot of love in the Forum right now. You guys really care about the sport...about respecting all the aspects of it, respecting other climbers' opinions and tastes, etc. Too bad we can't group hug online. Jim

I liked this thread until it turned into a "Im Pete everyone listen to me" thread because I know everything and am better then everyone else and I need to explain everything to anyone even if they already know it but I don't care because I just like to hear myself type. Thanks for ruining it.

Sorry, I just went back and read Wigglestick's entry, and I just have to make a comment. Wigglestick, I agree with what you said. I have made certain decisions in my life, and I have put certain things above climbing (school, family, my future plans--all good things, and besides I don't need to justify my priorities to anyone). And I agree that I could pack it up and move to Yosemite, I just choose not to. And I agree that you have to put your time in, pay your dues, etc. However, you wrote, Quote:If you are not willing to sacrifice for this sport as much as somebody else than you better not demand to get the same respect. I never expected to get more respect than I deserve, and I don't think Pianomahnn has either. I only asked that Pianomahnn gets the respect that he does deserve. I also think that I show respect for the other members of this site more than most people do. In the rare cases where I have shown disrespect, you'll notice, it is usually in response to someone else's glaring display of monumental disrespect. And I will have you know that I respect people based not only on their climbing expertise, but also on their character. It is possible that someone (hypothetically speaking, of course) could have a decent writing style, and a goodly amount of technical knowledge, but I will not respect him if he is not a decent human being as well. So when I began to read this here topic, I was ready for one thing. But after getting into everything further, I got another. Let me start by saying that certain people(addirwhatever & ptpp)seem to have this thing with being rude and full of themselves. Now for me to burst their ego bubbles. Dont think that you are cool because you climb trad and others dont. If you came to this site to offer this "knowledge" that you seem to have, then you would be cool. But since all you offer is bitterness and poor attitude, you suck. If you came out and said you know what, I do trad routes that are 13's, I do sport routes that are 13's, and I boulder v13, then that might explain your stupid elitest thought process. But you dont, nor will you ever, so stop the attitude, keep your trad discussions in the trad forum, and show respect to your peers. I will also tell you that PianoMahnn does not only climb strong indoors, but outside as well. And when he expects respect from people at this site, remember that he is a big reason for this sites' expansion. And just for your information, I climb solid in all areas whether it be trad, sport, tr, boulder, and soforth, but you dont see me with a crappy attitude. Now on to how PianoMahnn did at his first comp. I think that he did a wonderful job, climbed hard, and most importantly, had fun. I am worried that soon he will be beating me. Good job!!!!!!!!

Thank bro!! I doubt I will beat you if you're climbing at the shop all the time while I'm chilling at VE, Chicagoland's Premier indoor climbing facility. Peace.
