With all of the talk about Hauling and ascending around here recently, I felt inspired to go hunting around Gary Storrick's website and check out obscure ascending devices. Take a look at This Bad Boy. Anyone ever considered using it? In my opinion, and experience with R/C Airplane engines, the thing would be really fickle, and you'd end up hauling it the old fashioned way. Oh well, I can dream... A Dolt Cart can be made from one of those bicycle trailers. Cool. But, a gasoline engine is just too dang noisy. You need to put solar cells on all the pigs and portaledges, and use them to feed gel batteries you haul up in an extra pig. The pigs and flagged ledges recharge the batteries all day long. You haul it all up with a compound reduction gear drive on a DC motor. Once you get to the top, you call for a helicopter rescue, because you have 444 pounds of mechanical equipment you can't budge.
