Looking for someone(male or female) interested in climbing during weekends at Seneca/Franklin come warmer weather. I name those 2 because they have what I want and are the shortest distance away. PM me or post here if interested. I am also going to be doing weeknights until sundown at Great Falls and carderock, solo or not.....

Dave

p.s. I have a wall in my house.

Hey man I would be more than willing ot share arope with you sometime. I live in Harrisonburg so you have to drive right through to get to franklin etc... Let me know your plans and maybe we can hook up sometime. I can also show you some good bouldering around the 'burg if you want to.

There is a small horde of NoVa climbers on the DC Outdoor Rockclimbing mailing list. You should check it out, it is useful for planning trips and getting in touch with people. (Ironically, given the name, people are using it to line up gym partners over the winter)

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dcoutdoorrockclimbing/

like I said, check it out.

Four of us from the list just went ice climbing yesterday in PA (if you're on the list you probably saw the trip report, but I don't want people who aren't getting the wrong impression -- it really is for planning outside trips). 3 mile approach to 100' flows, if that's not the opposite of gym climbing I don't know what is.

My point was simply that I find it ironic that people would use a list whose name is DC outdoor rock climbing list, to hook up gym partners. My approach to gym partners of late has been to show up and see who needs a catch, will give me a catch, etc.

When it warms up there will be plenty of people on the list going to Seneca and Franklin, but IMHO you would be insane to hit either crag in this weather. This is ice climbing weather we're having lately!

(edit: Ps. how come you never spoke up when I was looking for Old Rag partners? Seneca is a crowded choss heap compared to the Rag.)

pps. I don't doubt that Dave is familiar with the pros and cons of the list, I just don't want it getting a reputation as a 'bunch of gym climbers' cause that is total slander. I haven't met many weenies off the list, and some of my most reliable partners are from the list. So this is mostly a 'whiny apologist' posting
