Here's the deal- I am looking to fill in some holes in my rack, and have a question about camming range. I understand that the numbers that are given by the manufacturer are the measurements when fully cammed, or fully open (right??). I heard once that the actuall working range is the middle 3/4 of the range that they tell you. Is this true? On some of my smaller cams, that is kindof a scary thought, that leaves them almost fully open... I know how to place cams, this is not a question about what is overcammed or under-cammed. I'm just playing the numbers game so that I don't leave any gaps. Thanks for any insight.

Look at the cam comparison chart on Supertopo if you are trying to fill holes. I'm going to go and try to find a link to it now....
