In reply to: Oozestock Well I came across a climbing bum, he was walking along the road and I asked him tell where are you going, this he told me: Well, I’m going down to Ooze's farm, going to join in a RC.com bash. Gonna climb and smoke some hash, and set my soul free. We are bored, we're sick of winter, we are tired of Annie's naggin', and we got to get ourselves out for some craggin'. Well, then can I walk beside you? I have come to join the gatherin'. And I'm sick and tierd of all the RC.com blatherin'. And maybe it's the time of year, yes, and maybe cuz I lost my tan. And I can't find my #2 cam but life is for learning. We are bored, we're sick of winter, we have bought our season passes, and we hope to get some sun and not freeze our a*sses. By the time we got to Nelson, we were half a hundred strong, and everywhere was a bong and can of whipped cream. And I dreamed I saw bunch of drunk fools walking slacklines in the sky, And I better not get too high or I won't go climbin. This is crazy, it's still winter, but at least our butts aren't draggin, So let's layer up some fleece and do some craaaa, ggiiii, iiii, iinnnn.... http://www.wvclimbing.com/images/oozestock.jpg? THAT WAS GREAT!!!!111 LMAO

Heard this on a tv commercial, thought I'd share it; I like it. There's a place where I travel when I want to roam, and nobody knows it but me. The roads don't go there and the signs stay home, and nobody knows it but me. It's far, far away and way, way afar, and nobody knows it but me. And where ever you go that's where ever you are, and nobody knows it but me.

Much nicer than the commercial, Paul. Isn't that the one where the guy is driving his big SUV all over the mountains "where the roads don't go"? :?

Nice pics, jerryg... got any from Cave Rock? We really enjoyed the sunshine in the entrance of the cave the day we hiked up to check the area for possible routes. Not as much good moderate rock as it looks like from the road... probably a lot of hard things up there, for the next generation... Which day were y'all going spe-lunkin', anyhow?

[quote="theooze"]In reply to: Not too shabby, my friends. 8:00 on Friday, Grant, Katy, Jessica? Lets go climbing! FYI Stu: that should be 8am Saturday and yes indeed let's. As a trivial pointless aside, I just got back from a day up north on the ice and tonight the temps are supposed to drop to minus34o and that is celcius, before wind chill. Now who was complaining about forcast temps for next weekends gathering? http://smilies.jeeptalk.org/...ly/eek1bluegreen.gif

Kerosene heater - well, you'd better keep the windows cracked. I don't need a cabin full of CO - poisoned corpses. :(

Bryan climbed yesterday at 007 and the pillar. He said there was considerable snow down in the gap, but no problem climbing. He got his 1st trad .10 lead on Ed's Fudge Shop. Good news, Annie, I borrowed a nice big 4x4 pickup. I'm going today to pick up 3 steel barrels for fires, so everybody should be comfy outside. Grant - yeah I misunderstood your schedule. I'll be away Sat. morning, but back later that day. Look forward to seeing you and the ladies!

In reply to: Saturday: Showers possible. Highs in the upper 40s and lows in the mid 20s. Sunday: Few showers. Highs in the mid 40s and lows in the upper 20s. Monday: More clouds than sun. Highs in the upper 40s and lows in the low 30s. Tuesday: Mostly cloudy. Highs in the low 50s and lows in the low 30s. Wednesday: Times of sun and clouds. Highs in the low 50s and lows in the low 30s. That's about as good as it gets this time of year. More sun would be nice, but I bet we're gonna have some near-perfect days.

I'll read with you. I teach sixth-grade language arts, and we're covering Dr. Seuss all this week as part of the Read Across America week. If you want I can perform a nude, rhythmic dance version of The Lorax. About the earlier poem, I didn't really notice the irony of getting away from it all... in a HUGE SUV... funny shit.
