Squish;
Do you mean Cathederal Rocks or Cathederal Peak in Tuolumne?
I was in the valley yesterday, Mid. Cathederal looks fine even dry, but pretty cold most of the day I would bet. I didn't climb over there, I stayed on the south facing side of the valley where it was really comfortable most of the day. As far as C. Peak, your looking at a looong ski approach, but you probably knew that anyway. Have fun!

Do you mean Cath. rocks or Cath. peak in Tuolumne?
I was in the Valley yesterday and Middle Cathederal looked fine, even dry. I'll bet it is cold as hell up there still most of the day, being North facing and all. I was climbing the lower couple of hundred ft. of El Cap( South facing), just working my aid systems. It was pretty comfortable after about 10 am until 5pm. As far as C- Peak, it would be a loooong ski approach right now, but I'm sure you knew that anyway. Have fun whatever it ends up being.

What routes on Cathedral are you interested in doing? I may have this weekend free and if so, may head up to the ditch. You should note that the Middle Cathedral Chimney is no longer used for descent.

A lot depends on the weather. I have heard it is still pretty chilly on that side of the valley. Thanks for the beta about the descent. What happened was there a big slide or something? What is the new descent?

yes, there has been large amounts of slide coming down the Chimney in the past year. Now, you either need to descend the Gunsite or the Spires Gully.

Thanks to Bushie deciding last night to blast Iraq later this week, I had to move my week off next week to the following week/first week of April. I work in television news here in LA, gotta be around next week when all hell breaks loose. But I look forward to climbing with ya in the future Doug!

Hey Moabbeth-

It was good meeting you in JTree. Damn, you CAN party with the big dogs, eh?

Hey, Gabe and I will be in the Valley the first week of April as well. Get a hold of Gabe, he'll give you details.

Cheers, Ammon
