I am not sure if this is the right group, but...........

has anyone else been out to Oakley to boulder on there faux concrete cliff bands/rocks that they have scattered through out there property for landscaping. If you go you would swear they built them to climb on, even have vertical cracks.

Sounds like fun! Of course, I've never been there, but it shouldn't be much different than playing on any other created structure.

The cliff bands are around 10'-15' high and there are three areas on the property with about 100 linear feet in total at least. Lots of crimps and horizontal and vertical cracks of all sizes. There is even a chimeny. If I took a picture of someone on the rock you probably wouldn't even know it was man made.

At my last job, Oakley was a client of ours and I was actively involved and working on the facility. I never went and climbed it until after I changed jobs. The last time out we saw some other chalk marks so it looks like other people are bouldering there too. Just wondering if anyone has been there.

Rumor has it that one of the Costa Mesa "pimp daddies" were working this hella rad sit down start right over a sprinkler head and that he was able to pull off the opening crux move, a fierce left-cheek butt-dyno, but the sprinkler came on right then and the resulting enema invalidated the ass-cent, er, ascent. Supposedly they went back with some kind of anal cork rig in case the sprinklers came on again, thus preserving the ethical purity while avoiding the unfortunate sanitary mishap...
