Hello fellow climbers, I was just wondering how the height/weight factors in how hard you can climb. I am aware that, just those two factors can't be relied upon completely. 5' 8" 155 lbs can lead (sport) 5.10 b/c & V2 bouldering. I have been climbing little over a year.

5'10~11, 205 In the gym TR a .12, outside TR an easy .11, sport lead .9? trad lead .8, rope solo .7 (once accidently .9, wrong start). No good on overhangs, I like the easy routes!

Jeez, I'm a TANK of a climber, then. 6'2" 225# Some bouldering years ago, 30" jump, broken foot, years go by, about 8 times climbing in last year just getting back into it now that I found climber friends. :D So, now.. TR Flash & redpoint 5.9+&.10s--more times out and I will push (and fail) harder. Going to Sport lead the same 5.9+ I just flashed last weekend next. And contrary to someone one guy said in regards to "bigger" guys in gyms not being able to do 15 pull-ups, I can. However, one would be hard pressed to find a good number of people who can do 15 good, slow (read no body throws) pull-ups, even a lot of climbers. Technique beats raw power any day, this I know, because THAT'S what I'm trying to improve.

Let's see - Lynn Hill, Katie Brown - around 5', pretty darn light, climb 5.14 John Dunne, 5' 10" or so, pretty darn not-light (100kg or so), climbs 5.14 runouts Tommy Caldwell, Chris Sharma - around 5'10", medium build, climb 14+/15- Only trend I see is I can't think of anyone famous who climbs really hard who's really tall. Dave Bengston did some 5.13s at 6'6", anyone climbing 14s over 6'2" or so? Greg (6' 80kg, max 11a trad, 11a sport, V2 boulder, 8+ yrs, 4 pull ups if I'm lucky, can't one-arm hang on jug with either arm...)

So the average height seems to be around 5' 10" and weight about 165 lbs? Most of you guys seem to be doing 5.11 sports and a very good number of people are into Trad. Thank you all for your responses.
