I just got a ton of webbing for christmas. i want to cut it to my specifications. how should i go about cutting the webbing?

i dont think there is a real way to do it. knife, scissors, chain saw, etc......
it really doesnt matter just burn the ends so they dont fray or unravel.

Home Depot has this really cool device I want to steal from them for this. It's a 3" wide blade type thing that gets red hot. You put the rope, or webing, over it and it cuts and seals at the same time. Really cool, but they don't want to sell it and it's bolted to an I-beam.

You should be able to buy a hand held version of that device in a hobby shop. Works pretty much the same as an eletric souldering iron but with a flat bar on the end.

Just go to your local climbing gear shop and schmooze with the counter help. You should be able to talk them into letting you use their hotcutter.

Take a knife and make it red hot over a candle or something and then melt through the webbing instead of cutting it...It also works well with rope

You can use a knife and some source of fire, but it works better and it does not mess up webbing if you go to your local climbing store. Usually they will have a rope cutter which works so much better.
