Can anyone tell me what the prospects for midweek camping would be at either of these no-reservation campgrounds in Tuolumne? (I am coming from Boston for a week of climbing.) Would I find a spot for a tent in the afternoon or would a morning arrival be essential (as I hear it is at Camp 4).

Thanks,

Aaron

You don't mention when you're planning on being there, but the Park Service doesn't plan to open either campground until June 27.

I've never stayed at Yosemite Creek, but I've rarely been turned away from Porcupine Flats even on Friday nights. Plus it's way cheaper than Tuolumne Meadows. No water, though.

Tuolumne Meadows does keep half of its sites open for non-reserved camping. It's not open 'til the 27th either.

There is lots of snow up there, or there was a couple of weekends ago anyway.
