The holds came last night, and I put them up on my home woodie.

The framing took about 4 man hours to complete, and the total price was 100 dollars US (holds and wood.)

I think I got sucked in to the hold buying trap.... I just ordered more handholds.

I'll try to get a better picture up in a couple days.

Nice... Finish with a crimper on the door frame, then link up the "door traverse" with the doorknob eliminated from the problem.

I have a closet that looks just like that and have always said it would be cool to have holds in there. I guess you beet me to it. Good Job.

Those are some route markers I have got over the last couple weeks.

Some are stickers, others I printed off the internet.

I wanted to put some markers on the wall that would start conversations or bring back funny times. (sounds stupid, but itll be sweet.)

rradam- as you may have noticed, the sticker to the far left is from starbucks. I'll call that route 'Friends Don't Let Friends Drink At Starbucks' just for you. 8) awesome idea bout the door traverse

gretchino- its actually not that bad, and i prefer to call it 'cozy.'

jt512- yes, it does tend to have that effect.

My folks had an under-the-stairs closet like that when I was younger. I thought it was so cool with its cave feel, and the tiny dimensions at the end for mini-Hillary to crawl around in. What a rad place to stick a little climbing spot! I just played dolls and board games in our closet. Might get pretty warm in there though ;)

I have a big walk-in closet in my current house, but it doesn't have any nice steep walls. I'm thinking more along the lines of converting it to a darkroom. 8)

nice woodie man! all you need now is dragon ball z stickers and painting throughout out the wall, then it would be perfect. my climbing wall is almost completely covered in dbz.

I just realized my house has an under-the-stairs closet as well....would be perfect for a small bouldering cave. Cooooooool!!

Just be sure not to eat a lot of spicy food before climbing in there. There's a chance you could fart and pass out, or even die, from all that gas in a small area.

I love the overhang. It has a slight chimney feel to it also!

I made a crash pad for the wall out of :

(1) 1/4" sleeping mat
(2) 3/4" egg crates
(1) 2" open cell foam

It doesn't bottom out, and fits well in the closet.

It's about 72" by about 28".

Those are NOT the dimensions of the closet (thank God)

I started putting up routes 3 days ago, and I'm having a lot of fun with that.
I'll get a good pic with the completed wall in a bout a week.

have you ever thought about texturing your wall. Metolius sells it. It's not that expensive, 30 bucks for a can that is probably more than enough for your little crag. You can paint over certain parts more and mroe to make little naturals in your wall. Be creative. MY gym spray painted over the texture to give it a look a like rock to it, every part of the gym has a different rock it's suppose to represent.
