I understand the Cadillac is a good trad harness, but I'd like to hear from some people who use them. If I could get some pros and cons, that would be great. Thanks.

Trad harness? Great. Wall harness? No way. For that matter, the Misty Titan is more contoured than the Cadillac and offers more flexibility than the Cadillac without sacrificing comfort or functionality. The only reason to get the Cadillac over the Titan would be if you can find a significantly better deal on one. FWIW -- I use the Titan currently as my trad harness and have climbed in a Cadillac several times. Ed

The Cadillac is a great trad harness. The longest I spent at a complete hanging belay was about an hour and it was so comfortable. I hate to admit this but I actually started to dose off on belay . With six gear loops, full strength haul loop, double buckle on the waist and adjustable leg loops, the Cadillac is a comfy harness.

The gear loops look kindof thin, are they pretty beefy?

I have had the Cadillac for the past two years, climing a few hundred pitches in it, from Cracked Wall (you read that right - SLO is the best town in the country, IMHO) to 14k peaks. None of the gear loops have ever given me a problem, even with trailing a second line and a half rack of gear hanging from them. In fact, I find the extra gear loops quite handy. It is fully adjustable and fits well over four layers for ice climbing/winter mountaineering, if you plan on doing any alpine stuff. The swami belt is pretty wide, so you get some good support at an sb. I really have no complaints. Once I wear this one out, I will probably buy the same thing. I haven't done any aid in the thing, so I will have to defer to others on that. But, I believe it would perform years better on a wall than my J-Rat harness ever did.

HAHA! SLO is a pretty sweet place to live. Did you live here at some point? Anyway, I'm getting the harness. I'll be doing long trad/alpine in it, and hopefully some beginning ice this winter. We'll see how things go. Thanks to everyone for the info.

I am in my 4th season of my Cadillac. pros: Solid construction Comfy Lots 'o gear racking options super adjustable Durable: 4 seasons of moderate use with no immediate need to replace yet. Cons: Bulky. I can pack a cinder block into a smaller space in my pack. Well, it would be close anyway Furry Belt. It's pretty hot in the summer , and can chaff a little Tie in points could be re-enforced a little better You need to have another harness for Top Roping. It looks really silly to see someone in it while on TR. Mine is well used, but is not in need of replacement yet. I will probably upgrade to the other Misty harness with the better belt. But that is probably to for another season or two. The loops are flimsy looking, but I have put my entire rack on them (stupid brother left the gear sling at the campground), and it held up well. It's been one of my better purchases from a dollar value to happiness to usefullness aspect Todd

It's a good harness. I've had one for several years and will get another one when needed. Comfort is key.

Big yes... Pros: -Comfortable, even when doing a hanging belay. -Six Gear Loops, unique layout instead of small ones crammed together. -Fully Adjustable Cons: -None

Just ordered it last night directly from Misty Mountain. Looking forward to giving it a try. And yes, I do have another harness for TR, sport, and short trad. Thanks again for all the responces.

The gear loops are great. I have done some long pitches and stitched the crap out of it. I have done several long routs in Idyllwild with lots of gear. I always carry more than nessesary.
