WoW!? Anyone seen this video of Sharma and Carrion's 3 month roadtrip? It gives climbing a whole new meaning.

In reply to: also a great video game. Indeed. If I had invested those quarters, I'd be a millionaire today.

In reply to: WoW!? Anyone seen this video of Sharma and Carrion's 3 month roadtrip? It gives climbing a whole new meaning. Is this the same movie where Sharma is doing a bouldering problem and he gets to the lip of a roof and just hangs by his feet?

Yes, that movie is so awesome :!: It's my favorite climbing movie. I've probably watched it no fewer than 30 times over the past year.

you people are awfully easy to please. i thought the video was adquate and entertaining. hardly the experience of a lifetime, though. on the whole, i'd rather watch "on the rocks" again. what amused me the most about the video was the all-to-accurate way it portrayed and reflected modern bouldering culture. "media" figures (what a joke to even use that term in this context), non-stop spray, a lot of stuff that should never wound up in a film. just my opinion.

i have the video, i watched it once and now i don't have a vcr to watch it in. anyone know of a place to get all the good video's on dvd? they are really fun to listen to realy loud with surround wound so people down the hall in my barracks hear people scream in pain as they fall off, or pull extra hard. they must think i hurt myself a lot.

YEAH! I especially love all those action-packed dynos! There are some great camera-friendly money-shots in that video. All those dynos, and slapping for holds! Yeah! I find those techniques are sooooooooooo effective in real-life climbing! Dynos! Slapping! I can't wait for Rampage 2!

In reply to: Yes it is... who knew such a bad ass boulder'er slash sport climber could foot jam like a madman. Not being a dick here - simply trying to make things accurate - Sharma's little episode involves toe hooks not "foot jam's". Either way, the send was pretty damn sick. To those criticizing Rampage's inclusion of so much no climbing footage, etc . . . you gotta remember it's Josh Lowell's film . . . Josh is a fellow east coaster and so his product is going to reflect his roots. Rampage, although shot primarily in the west does, in many ways, reflect a lot of the East Coast's bouldering culture, i.e. LOUD, social, and at times obnoxious . . . Free Hueco and Big Up are still more enjoyable for me.
