I was running on the trails there the other day and I came across a pretty cool spot for bouldering. There are a few pretty large rocks and while I haven't worked out any routes I have climbed around on them for a while. They aren't in an obscure place but I haven't seen any chalk marks or even any sign that people have been up there. I was wondering if anyone knew any rules that would prevent people from bouldering there or if it would be ok to post as a new location. I'll try to get some pictures next time I'm up there and message me if you want directions to it. Jon

Wich trail are they on? I have been there with my fiance because her parents live near there. I never saw any worthwhile boulders there but we were bird watching not climbing.

In Pennsylvania!? If so, I know what you're talking about I'm pretty sure. Last year i found these 3 huge rocks, they look like one giant boulder cut into 3 pieces. Is that it? Across the creek?

two things: 1) with this guy only having two posts, chances are he may have visited the site once and never again....lets hope not. 2) secondly, the park isn't that big, guess I'll have to find them myself!

There's about a day's worth of stuff to keep busy with. The rock is kind of bad and pretty dirty. It is in fact the "3 huge boulders split in half" that was previously mentioned. Walking down the main trail from the parking lot you have to cross the creek (we used a fallen log) to get to the boulders, which are on the side of the hill. That's the best I can do, it's been at least 5 years.

Keeping in mind that it has been a long time since I visited, I believe that it is on the north side of Ridley Creek. When walking east on the "Sycamore Mills" trail (marked RED on the map), it should be visible on the north side of the creek. The boulders are near the top of the creek depression. I'm pretty sure you'll want to cross the creek before the mutli-use trails intersect, west of the dam.

climbable? when we finally get a break from this 100% humidity! Yes. The rock is solid. Not a lot of features, so definitely potential for hard stuff too. Height? about 12 feet or so.

here's a map. again, on the other side of the creek from the multi-use trail. There is a trail on that side, and there is a path leading up to the rocks. randy

Randy, How far is this away from camp? Would it be worth the drive to meet up for a day of bouldering? Chris

the biggest problem is finding a place to cross the creek! You can park with minutes of the boulders but on the wrong side of the creek. I guess I'll have to get some big rocks and hop across the creek. As for the rocks, there is a potentially good traverse along the short side of the one rock. (maybe around the entire boulder?!) And some pretty decent line which good be pretty tough. Hard topouts. randy
