Does anyone know how far the bolts that go through the t-nuts stick out the back of a sheet of 3/4 inch plywood on a woodie?

a typical rc.com answer - IT DEPENDS! Seriously though there are many different lenght bolts for holds, this is necessitated by the many different sizes of holds, but as a general rule of thumb, the bolt should extend about 3/4 of an inch past the hold, but it can be less if necessary. Thus, the bolt that sticks out 3/4 of an inch from the hold will barely protrude from the back of the 3/4" plywood (I beleive 3/4" plywood, like most wood measurements, isn't actually its stated thickness, but I could be wrong).

Leaverbiner said it.
It depends on the thickness of the hold if you are using a uniform size/lenth bolt for most of your holds. Obviously the thicker the hold, the less that will be sticking out the back of the T-nut. I'd say in general for most medium size holds you are going to have about a half inch of bolt sticking out the back of the nut.

the other two posts have already answered... it perfectly logical... the lenght of bolt sticking out=legnht of bolt-(thickness of plywood+thickness of hold)

but why do you wish to know????

I want to know because i am building the woodie onto an existing wall. I needed to know how much clearance i need between the wall and the plywood.

if you choose your bolts corretly, you could go for as little as .25inch.

the framing(2x4's) should provide more than enough clearance.
