In. Will front money. Wanna climb lots. 8) Other staying options (camp in RMNP or FS land) require too much driving, and aren't walking a couple hundred yards from the pub - and the reservations are a pain in the butt, too (quiet hours? what are those?). Telemark is a very cool little place, I've stayed there before during a beer festival. The nicest couple of Norwegians run the place - they're awesome. Who wants to head up the Petit or Zowie one day? I'll cover $5 for Skibby to hike in. Ante?

Hey count me in! However, the lodging sounds a bit pricey for me. Remember those of us who do not have jobs and did not recently get a big promotion? I may just end up driving home, but I will be there to climb during the day.

Unless I shuffle flights, it's not looking good for me for this shindig. I'm heading to New River Gorge on the 20th. Yes, this is the land of "squeal like a pig" and "shore got a purdy mouth there, boy". Wishing everyone has a good time in the event I can't make it.

I'm in. Would love to do Petit or Zowie or Culp Bossier! Does this conflict with the AZ gathering?

Pour moi? Nah. Would much rather get another alpine route in anyway. Wanted to address it though as I think a couple of people from Colorado went to the AZ gathering last year.

Holy crap my bruise's just healed from the last one....thanx T-race-y! I'm in! I know a HUGE free camping area with climbing 2 seconds from your car. The only down side is a lack of water and facilities. But whatever, I probably won't be paying for any cabin's though... I'd be up for a late season Diamond route....Maybe the Forest finnish.... josh

Are these the Nors cabins/ tow truck yard? If so I have stayed there and while they are not the greatest they do have running water. Regardless, count me in.

I'm looking at various routes on Long's, but will end up doing whatever the mountain gods choose to let us. I've seen beautiful warm clear weather in late September and also 14" of snow (a short lived attempt at Long's back in 2000). Make your preferences known now so we can see who wants to do what and have lots of options open no matter what the weather throws at us.

Flamer, you said the right words when you mentioned the Diamond. At this junture I'd be up for another trip up the big "D". Forrest Finish is currently at the top of my list. You know me though I like staying on Broadway. Jeff

Skib, that is definitely the same place. Retro is one way to describe them. Seriously though they are clean if just a tad outdated. If many people split the cost then they will get there $$$ worth.

[quote:ac1965b94e="skibabeage"]Not certain if they're called the Nors cabins - they're referred to online as the Telemark Cabins. Tradkelly has stayed there before and recommends them, in a retro kind of way. They seem pretty decent.[/quote:ac1965b94e] as someone who has spent countless nights in so-called mountain cabins around the world fighting off all manner of rodents whilst trying to sleep among their droppings (have you ever stayed in the huts on the mexican volcanoes?), you'd have to try pretty hard to convince me the nors cabins are third world. count me in.

Hey, I am at RMNP right now and will be staying through the weekend. I am at the Aspenglen camp loop a #4. Is this thing still going on? I will be hiking with a friend this weekend, but I would love to get some climbing in at Lumpy. come see me at the camp, leave a message, or call me 703-867-0153. I check my messages every day. Is this thing still happening?

so, skibby ... as we considered on the phone yesterday, why don't we find a place in estes with cabins AND camping, and turn this into a "climb in the park and lumpy, then hit the restaurants and bars until they call the cops" kinda' thing?

That looks like a nice place. Hot tub, cabins, campsites and showers, pretty much covers the whole spectrum. How far to the bar?
