I just returned from a two day glacier trip and my laces on my Koflach's are looking pretty ragged... I was just wondering if anyone knows where I can order replacements, or possibly some handy trick for using accessory cord or something... My question with that is how do you fashion a plastic piece on the end of the lace to slide through the eyelets? I would appreciate any input... Ryan

You can use a butane cigarette lighter to fuse the end of nylon cord. Just roll it around as you move the flame back and forth. Lick your fingers, and roll the end down tight, then heat it up and do it again.

i just use some electrical tape, make some TIGHT wraps aroud the lace and then cut so that i cur about 3mm of the tape, the rest stays on the lace. its just like the plastic you get on the new laces. and one of my buddys actually uset a tiny steel tube and pressed it onto the end of the lace (you know, the tube was larger than the lace at first, but he squeezed it). looks cool and works.

Right on... Thank you both for the info... I will try both and see which works the best... (Just like dealing with the end of a climbing rope I suppose...) Thanks... 8)
