I am hoping to climb either I'itoi Dance, or Cloud Man Got Angry on Babo. this coming winter while I'm on vacation. What size cams and other gear are needed for the route? And are there any other special things I should know about the route/area? Thanks for any info?

I have climbed there once back in the 90's.

We did the SE Arete. Almost an epic adventure in dehydration. But thats what you get for climbing in the summer. Anyway as far as gear, I know nothing about the gear needed for those routes that you are gonna do.
But here is some other info you might need.
We took the east approach.
An 2-3 hour haul uphill will get you to the saddle. Depending how much gear you bring will depend on how long it will take. We found it nice to camp at the saddle. Bring lots of water. There is a spring that comes out of the rock in around the middle of the Lions Ledge. Don't depend on water being there since we are in the middle of a drought. Prepare for it to be cold and windy in November also. It is in the desert, but the peak is still 7,730'.
Sorry I did not have A whole bunch of info for you.
Hope you have A good time.

Those sound like new routes. They aren't in Bob Kerry's 2nd addition of Backcountry Climbing in So Az. It's still a great source for routes, especially the aid routes. Good luck, let me know about those routes. M

From what I hear, a few new (mostly bolted?) routes have been done on Babo, kind of on the south and southwest side(?). Don't have any decent info on them yet.
