a friend told me he met some climbers in S. Africa who had paid a travel agency/organizer to join this international climbing trip. it sounded like the organizer selects an itinerary of countries and you can join anytime. does anyone know who organizes this? do they have a URL? I may consider it in the future... also if you've traveled with this group, how would you rate their services?

I have a good german friend (the Andrea of my pictures) who made the trip last fall (Sth Africa and nearby countries). Good atmosphere, but not more climbing than once in a week or so... parties every evening for sure!

hampi looks really cool. Also backpacking in the himalaya. Do you need to go with a group? It would be cool if you can't find people to go with. If you're up for traveling solo, go for it! You'll discover all sorts of things. Not to mention being able to explore museums, see local art and culture- bands, festivales, etc, on your own w/out having to deal with a structured schedule. i'm thinkin' I'd like to do nepal and have been checkin' out a Neplai phrasebook!

[I have a good german friend (the Andrea of my pictures) who made the trip last fall (Sth Africa and nearby countries). Good atmosphere, but not more climbing than once in a week or so... parties every evening for sure!] Hiya! Your friend was prolly hangin' with a rocking, rather than 'rocking', crowd then! SA in general, has an awesome party and social scene - good vibes all round - AND its climbing opportunities equal if not surpass every cool other aspect of South Africa! :D If you climbed every day of the week for the rest of your life, you still wouldn't run out of established, or virgin routes! - seriously! Wanna come play? Mail me! Cheers Jono
