On the March Break, I will be heading down to Toronto for some days of climbing to be done at Joe Rockheads. For those of you who would like to join me, you are more than welcome.

Yes my son and I have been planning this for quite a while. He figured we might as well invite some rockclimbing.com members along for the ride too. I am very proud with the way he has improved his bouldering skills. Anyone who would like to meet us down at Joe's can climb with us.

If I can get out there I'll see you for sure. I'll be around for the march break so I just need to hook up a ride. I don't think it'll be a problem.

Cool. Don't worry, I'll set a definite date, in the days to follow, I have to talk it over with my dad some more.

I will most definitely take my dad up on that right now. I would also like to state, that my dad and I will be spectating the National Bouldering Competition being held at Joe Rockheads (Blurr 2002). We will not be competing, however it would way cool to meet some of you there as well. This competition will be taking place sometime in May. A definite date, on its way.

Munch, I don't usually do much gym climbing but when you figure out a date I'll see if I can make it. If I can and you need a ride Chris, give me a shout.

Sure, gimme a date and I'll try to make it. I hate Rockhead's. Man, the owner's wife is a Real Bitch! (Or at least she used to be...) Now that they are not the Only Game in Town, perhaps they have learned how to treat their customers! Then again, perhaps they have not. If I treated my clients the way they treated me, I would have been out of business long ago! Cheers, Pete

I will more than likely be at the comp with my camera. I heard a rumor that there will be no rec division this year so I won't be climbing. And so no-one will be surprised, there will be spectator fee for Nationals, last year it was $6 I think.

toshido: I don't mean to rain on the parade but the skeptic in me says the Sportsmans show is more about hunting and fishing (the Outdoor Adventure show is a little better) and the climbing wall is probably covered in small kids. Mind you, I'm just a shortarse Anyway Rockheads is better climbing. They are on Frazer St/Frasier St (sp) downtown TO. I don't know the street names/turns but there is a website, maybe joerockheads.com that will likely have directions or call them. redzit: Any RC.com member is welcome and even though the post says for Ontario climbers mostly, it would be really cool to have some out of province climbers stop by, so yes redzit, come on down. Times:????????? Munch: So how about posting some times dude? It's two days to the weekend and there's evil plans to be made and devilish deeds to be done.

directions. if your going west on king street it's a simple left on fraser st. after a bridge before duffern(sp). once on frasier go to the end and JR is across from a huge westons bakery. BTW rockheads is always PACKED on the weekends in da winter so i kinda suggest starting it up early if i ain't to hung over(jj). see you all there. kevin

Darkside: Even though i have only climbed at one gym (Higher Ground) and rarely go aboce 10 feet up (I go alone a lot) I did mean my excitement to be taken sarcasticaly. As far as the climbing on the wall goes. As far as the show itself is concerned will I heard of it through a radio commercial. What caught my ear was it specifically mentioned climbers. So there might be some decent deals on gear there. As well as info on climbs tours etc... Maybe even coupons for climbing at Joe Rockheads. Maybe a quick stop there couls save money at the get together???

About the Sportsman show, I usually go because I also fish. Last year the Wall was from Toronto Climbing Academy. And Europe Bound was the only gear retailer. This year on their list of retailers Europe Bound is still the only one that I recognize. So I'd have to agree with Darkside in that it is more of hunting and fishing show. BTW I went to the Outdoor show and it wasn’t that great.
