I think that the sun is too high over the yardarm, it makes the photos too contrasty. Is it possible to take the photos either very early in the morning or late in the arvo so that you get the golden glow of sunrise or sunset. The last pic with the falling climber in focus rather than the rock on focus and the climber blurred doesn`t push my buttons. I reckon the sensation of movement should be with the falling climber rather than the motion blurred cliff. That said I think that the last pic is the best of them.

I like the falling one, because it's always cool to see pics of people falling.Of the other two, the first one is better. Can't say exactly why, that's just my feeling.

I agree with coldclimb .. the top one is the better of the climbing pictures, but the falling one is the best -- here is why (IMHO) - the falling picture - the climber is sharp .. falling is cool. The top one is better becasue there is no distracting black behind his head, or on the wall to his left. Also because you can see his face and the determination to make the clip.

I agree with this however when traveling with 10 people on a "climbing for fun" trip, it reduces you options for shooting. basically I had to do the best with what I had. 8)

i would vote for the third one, it is a really nice shot. He is frozen "calmly" midair, but still his hand moving-faster-than-light is blurred, really cool. The first one is good too, but there is not much action, as well as the composition is a bit static as well as centered.

Funny thing is that the 2nd one has the highest vote ranking of the 3  . I bulls-eyed all 3 as well. That is one of my personal areas of "needs improvement"....

#1 nice pic spoilt somewhat by the hanging quickdraws crossing his left hand. A shallower depth of field might have made it a more dramatic shot. #2 Certainly the worse of the three. Too cramped, hands almost obscurred by foreground rock ect. #3 A nice moment captures with good expression ect. Could be better if it was taken earlier when he is above his last piec eof gear. At the momen tit looks more like a swing rather thana fall. I really like the colors and light of all of these shots. At sunset or sunrise the rock would be un-naturally orange and could actually look worse - especially if using Veliva. Well done!
