not to far! LOL I LOVE bouldering, but I'm a big baby about going to high... its not going high that scares me, its the coming down... the guys at my wall are always making me go pretty high, and then they like tickle me when I'm up there and make me jump down... It drives me crazy because I dont lik falling that far, but I'm getting better... they jump from like 15 feet with no prob... but I'm like 2 feet AAHHHHH

i'd have to say about 50-60' off the deck...its a really easy route i do when i'm training...really long traverse that goes into a place big enough to eat lunch on overlooking the river....its awesome up there, but ya squirt yer arse off the ledge, your lookin at a long fall into a shallow river lol

one friday i'd been drink for 14 hours (noon to 2am) and walking home seen what i thought looked like a sweet buildering problem round the back o the pub (a three story building) next thing i know im 9 meters up this drain pipe, pissed as, in running shoes, sweating it up and wondering what the F**k to do. thinkin to myself "sort it out pedro" i climbed the remaining metre and a bit and topped out onto the roof, found the fire escaped and climbed down, only to find the owner who politely told me to "get the fuck outta here". i probably woodnt climb that high unprotected again though... highballs = bigballs = dumbass

I would say about 25-30 ft, it was the scariest climb I have ever done.

For me probably around 20 feet. The difference between a highball and a free solo is all in your approach. With a solo falling is not a consideration at all, with a highball, you do actually plan for the even the you may come off. You might want a spot or two and a bunch of pads just in case. The top bouldering hight is therefore however high you are prepared to fall. If your not prepared to fall, it's not bouldering. Just what I reckon anyway.

As far as I'm concerned, bouldering is unroped climbing. I guess if you wanted to try and seperate it, you're bouldering when you're not carrying a rope, but whats the point? Climbing is climbing. My own terms for ropeless climbing: Minimal danger due to the height of the route (you can always break your back or sprain an ankle) is bouldering When a fall is probably going to cause serious injury it's highball, high bouldering or otd (off the deck) When you die if you fall, it's free solo. I can tell you no more.

I feel like such a wuss compared to everyone else!! I've only bouldered at most as high as 5m. But I did fracture my foot in a bouldering fall... which has made me a lot more cautious.
