Hey i'm new to ice climbing and want to buy a pair of axes. I was looking at BD Rage and BD Cobra was wondering which would be better? Thanks for the help. -Joe

I have Rage and like them. Less chance of breaking the Rage. And money left over to spend on other stuff.

its not what other people think is best it is what works best for you. take some good advice, attend an ice festival and demo all the tools and find a pair that suits you. $300-500 is alot to spend on a pair of tools you cant test drive. happy hunting, john

Also why limit to BD....check out some of the models Charlet Moser has to offer.

alpinerocket has got it...try some stuff out. i have quarks and dig them. i have smaller hands and they seem to be a little slimmer than BD. good luck r.r.

Hey thanks guys yea i was only able to get a hold of BD's rage and cobra and they felt fine just didn't get to use them on ice. Didn't have a chance to try out the other kinds. -Joe
