i have added the routes that disappeared back to this section. i also added a pillar and a new route. check out the area, its alot of fun and a good place to learn how to place gear.

In reply to: The second pillar in the river. You can either boat or swim, like the two who put up its only route. - the description of the unnamed pillar I thought there were two bolted routes on that pillar one on the west side and one on the south side.

you're thinking of the pillar called the great train-go, the one closest to the shore. the pillar east of this pillar is unnamed pillar. as far as i know the only route was put up two years ago by high school kids from ames. they used soft iron pitons for pro. i haven't climbed it yet but would like to get out there. shoot me a line if you want to go this weekend or check out hanging rock.

i went out to the pillars on Sunday. The river is up, so a boat is needed to climb train-go and unnamed pillars. The east face of the parking lot pillar is also flooded. i bouldered on the roadside wall to make the best of the trip.
