T2 However, it was worth it for this post:
In reply to: I'm waiting to see a Petzl hanger poking out above a pair of low rise Prana yoga pants.

no, I'm sure it SOMEHOW managed to elude EVERYONE ELSE reading this thread. that being said, be very, very careful. piercings can get caught on the damndest things: I work in a bakery and had a 24# box of yeast slip while I was lifting it onto a shelf. the corner caught one of my nipple rings through my shirt and tore it about halfway out. it didn't feel very good, but it wasn't as bad as the time I broke my nose potty tipping.

No, I guess i'm not new... I just couldn't resist the urge to patronize the crowd that likes putting holes in themselves, then actually have the gumpsure to ask if its ok or not to do whilst climbing. Maybe i'm wrong. Maybe I missed something. Maybe someone could clue me in. Maybe i'll just move on. Still the dumbest thread ever, but its good to see the hilarious responses. Thanks Jhump. You made my day. I'll work on my name.

Yep. Some threads are stupid, yet funny. Some are serious. Wherever you go, someone's likely to rank on you. Keep looking, you'll find dumber than this. Also, there are some excellent discussions going on. Consider that rock climbers don't look at the world from the same angle as most folks. Welcome!

I have a small belly ring and have had no problem with it. It doesn't get snagged at all.

In reply to: In reply to: In reply to: dumbest thread ever Why bother posting anything if you think that this is a dumb thread? Skip over it and move on. Yeah man, this is a serious issue. If you don't think it is important for cutebootyclimber to get his/her bellybutton adorned with a trinket, then go crank sick routes, then don't chime in. Buster. This is such a serious issue that he/she made it his/her first post. Maybe he/she took the trouble to create a profile just to ask this question. And what kind of name is redpiton? It doesn't even tell us anything about the hotness or lack thereof of your buttocks. Funny, I actually did create a profile just to ask this question. I was expecting to get a few replies from other female climbers but whoa! I almost laughed my cute ass off :)

In response to the original question (does anyone remember what it was anymore?), you shouldn't have a problem if you are careful. I have a few piercings and have never had any problems, besides having to make the occasional adjustment to where my harness is sitting. Talk to your piercer and he/she can advise you what to do. Chances are, they would tell you to wait until fall or winter when you won't be outside as much (belly button piercings are a bit slow healing, with the low end being around 6 months). And also, the only way one can pull out is if you have some tiny ring in or if it is pierced in the wrong place. Also, at 10 or 12 gauge, it will take a heck of a lot of pull to a healed piercing out. john PS-Can I see a pic when you get it done?
